What is Kama?
Kama is a mixture of roasted and milled whole grains and legumes, including rye, peas, barley, and wheat. It is very high in fiber, B vitamins and is a good source of protein. Traditionally added to yogurt or kefir, it can also be added to milk, smoothies, or baked goods to improve nutritional value. Since it’s roasted, it requires no cooking, has a long shelf life, and is easy to digest.
Suggested preparation Instructions:
Stir 1/4 cup (40g) into a cup of your favorite yogurt, kefir, or milk. For a softer texture, prepare and let sit for a few minutes or up to overnight in the refrigerator to allow the grains to absorb moisture and soften. Alternatively, mix one part Kama with two parts hot water for a hot breakfast porridge. Can also be sprinkled into parfaits, added to smoothies, and added to baked goods for increased flavor and nutrition.
